Marcie has been enchanting young children and educating their parents for the past 40 years. She attended Clark University, earning degrees in special education and psychology, and went on to pursue her graduate studies in early childhood education at Tufts University and Wheelock College.

Marcie’s picture book When Someone Deeply Listens to you, is the culmination of Marcie’s certification in poetic medicine. Marcie carries her skill and enthusiastic style into poetry circles she designs, to meet the needs of numerous populations. These include children, diversely abled adults, new moms, and seniors.

Marcie’s first book, Parenting with Awareness, evolved from her experiences in teaching hundreds of parents and children in the Marcie and Me parent child program she created. The book offers a unique parenting philosophy that honors the integrity of childhood, with the goal to create children who are self-empowered, self-disciplined, and self-motivated.

Because children learn through experimentation, both books contain creative hand on activities and guided conversations to teach their vital message.

Marcie lives with her husband in Massachusetts. When she isn’t writing she may be doing numerology readings, photographing treasures of Cape Cod, or riding her bike along the bike path over the Sippewissett marsh in Falmouth, Ma.  She is the proud mother of two sons and three stepchildren. She is adoring her role as “Mimi” with her grandchildren.

Marcie is available to organize a poetry circle for your school or organization or to speak about her unique parenting philosophy.
